![]() In “Mercy-Usage Watch” news: Mercy hit 91% this week, losing 5% over last week’s Usage Rate. As you may have guessed, this didn’t happen. Just like last week, the beauty of 1 Hero Limits is that its actually impossible for any Hero to reach the S Tier, unless they’re literally used on every map by every team on Offense, Defense, and King of the Hill. Before we get to that though, let’s dive into the Hero Tiers for this week. It's not just King of the Hill - something funky is happening with the entire Map Ban system in Competitive Overwatch. Reinhardt's downward movement can also be partly explained by a slight increase in King of the Hill Map usage compared to last week - one of many Butterfly Effects beginning to emerge as a result of the new Format. This has had the effect of increasing the size of the "Negotiable Core" Heroes as more Teams experiment with Winston and Zarya in their lineups - demoting Reinhardt by an entire Tier. Teams have had another full week to familiarize themselves within the constraints of 1 Hero Limit and they have begun to branch out a bit more in their Hero Swaps. Last week’s Report noted that distinct Hero Tiers have begun to coalesce - this week these Tiers have become even more explicit. ![]() Becoming pilot D.VA when your mech gets destroyed no longer feels like a positive, since it extends the amount of time your team is without a tank unless you can stay alive, which is much harder to do without another tank.Whats up guys and gals, CaptainPlanet here to present The Overwatch Hero Tier List and Meta Report #14: Where did all of the Maps Go? This Report marks the second week of the experimental Eggplant Format (Banning 2CP Maps, 1 Hero Limit, Stopwatch Scoring) and new patterns are beginning to emerge. Her rockets are effective and her primary fire not needing to reload or cooldown allows D.VA to contribute more as a damage dealer, but unless you have a healer pocketing you, your mech is going to get shredded. While her tanking abilities leave something to be desired, she does balance it out a bit by being able to consistently deal a solid amount of damage. Which is fine, but the other tank characters either have better mitigation abilities or abilities that make them more sustainable. Other than that ability, your prime method of mitigating damage for your deal is by just actually tanking it. Her ability to mitigate damage is fairly limited, since it's only based on her defense matrix, which doesn't last too long. Here's how all 11 tank heroes in Overwatch 2 stack up.ĭ.VA is the other tank that suffers from the switch to 5v5, although not as much as Doomfist. ![]() That being said, none of these heroes are straight up bad picks, but some are definitely more useful than others. This is true for many of the tank heroes and while players will certainly enjoy the variety between heroes, some of them are just better tanks than others. While some heroes got complete reworks for Overwatch 2, some of them only got minor adjustments to their kits-others even join the tank class for the first time, sliding over from DPS. All of these responsibilities now rest on single tanks shoulders, impacting the effectiveness of each hero. Previously, some tanks were considered mains, while others could fill the off-tank slot, focusing more on dealing damage and being a problem for the other team, while the main could focus on defending the heroes with smaller health pools. While there is only one new tank in the game at the moment, Junker Queen, the switch to a single tank has shifted the meta. This change has impacted the meta for sure, along with a multitude of individual hero changes, but this has had the largest impact on the tank class. One of the biggest changes from Overwatch to Overwatch 2 is that switch from a 6v6 to a 5v5, with each team dropping from two tanks down to one.įor more on Blizzard's big sequel, don't miss our DPS tier list and support tier list. ![]() While some players will be sad to hear that the original game is now offline and unplayable, it does mean that it got some much-needed changes and updates. That's why we've created an Overwatch 2 tank tier list-and you can bet we'll update it as time goes on and the meta shifts. ![]() The switch also brings big changes to the Overwatch 2 tanks, perhaps more than any other class in the game. Overwatch is here, and it introduces new game modes, heroes, cosmetics, and some fresh balancing changes. ![]()
