Jeremy and I tied for last place, the shame.(Good teacher award, last place after teaching). If you are viewing this you are browsing using the old version of Reddit. He will get his comeuppance like Bennie in the Mummy movie, mwa ha ha. Felix got the win (yawn) as expected but he is now becoming the lightning rod and "I never win act" is fooling no one anymore. was in the strongest position but didn't quite leverage it and probably hung on to his income a turn too long but was in a good position. I had to focus in keeping LA rather then just expand to the good stuff. I was concerned that Felix got the best starting spot and if there is anyone who doesn't need a good start it's him I had a good area near LA that I thought would be a good income generator but Jeremy came in right away guns a blazin' and hurt both of us. I kept talking but everyone was completely silent so it was weird I couldn't gauge if I had communicated it properly but no one was lost so that looked good. and I blanked the first 2 minutes on how to teach but then it all came back to me. I won and celebrated imagining myself at the park with the Eiffel Tower spraying Champaign all around. I got a bunch of wood that turned into a bunch of gold (8s) and then I got 35vp just from a bonus tile and being on 5 8s. Each sector will score at game end if it has 4 keys in it, when that happens whoever put the 4th key in the area chooses one of the end game points it's worth. I was able to put out some monuments and get some controls of decent point areas. I went for 3's that got me gold stars and moved me down the bonus track to take goodies. Nothing earth shattering here but still entertaining but not enough for me to buy it. I enjoy Harry Potter because it allows me to escape into another world. Things you can do on your turn are place a key in a sector and get 0-7 coins, or pay to move your key in a sector up and collect the corresponding reward. It is such a ridiculous question and I don't just mean because wizards basically shun anything that is a muggle-specific invention or because they would be able to cast enchantments to protect themselves, but because it takes away from what is supposed to be a magical world. It's divided up into 6 sectors with 6 places in each sector. Paris is an area control game with some resource management. ![]() The others are pirates, zombies and sadly cats. It had a circular board so I was on my guard as there are usually 3 or 4 things that seem to always tip off that a game might be bad and one of those things in my books is a circular board. If you put fancy bits please make sure they don't hamper play. This came with the fancy super thick bits and a 3d Arch de Triumph but Craig wisely didn't assemble it as it would block board view. They have done some of my favorite designs like Heaven & Ale. (Craig, Leann, Michael and Scott) (4P) - I was excited to play this new Kiesling & Kramer design. ![]()
